Bangladesh
People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country that is located in the South Asia. Bangladesh is bordered by India from all sides but on its south east side Burma is bordered. Bangladesh makes the ethno-linguistic region that is called Bengal by combining with the west Bengal of Indian state. The major language is Bengali language and from Bengali language the word Bangladesh is derived that literally mean country of Bengal. Bangladesh was the part of Hindustan before partition and during the year 1947 Bangladesh became independent and it was the part of Pakistan. Later on in the year 1971, Bangladesh got independent from Pakistan. West Pakistan and East Pakistan ( current Bangladesh ) had several disputes on several issues such as economical, political etc and Bengali people started war against West Pakistan for freedom, in the year 1971 Bangladesh got separated with the military help of India against Pakistan. Today, Bangladesh is listed among the most populous countries and it is the seventh largest country population wise. The capital city is Dhaka and it is the largest city of Bangladesh. Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal are the other largest cities of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a democratic country where parliamentary governmental system is based. Prime minister is the head of the government while president is the head of the state. President appoints the prime minister. President is elected by the parliament. Bangladesh constitution underwent fourteen alterations. There are six administrative divisions of Bangladesh that are named on the divisional headquarters. The six administrative divisions are further divided into the 64 districts which are further divided into sub districts. Climate of Bangladesh is tropical that has a mild winter season that lasts from October till march, summer season is quite hot and humid that lasts from March till June. Monsoon season is quite hot and humid that starts from June and ends on October. Floods, tornadoes, tropical cyclones and tidal bores occur on and off throughout the year. Bangladesh is developing country that is struggling hard to become the developed country. Still its economy is not in good state. Islam is the state religion f Bangladesh and usually Islamic culture is customized in Bangladesh. Eid ul Fiter and Eid ul Adha are the big religious festivals. Cricket and football are the popular sports in Bangladesh. Other popular sports are hockey, tennis, badminton, handball, volleyball. Chess, carom and kabadi.
