Bangladesh Government

Bangladesh is governed by a multi-party parliamentary system of government. The executive power of the republic is exercised by or on the advice of the Prime Minister who commands the support of the majority members of Parliament and is appointed by the President. Other ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers are appointed by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister nominates the cabinet members from among parliament members and one-tenths of the total members are from outside of the Parliament. The cabinet is collectively accountable to  the Parliament. The roles of head of state and head of government are separated. In the Bangladesh parliamentary systems, the head of state (the President) is generally a ceremonial position. Under Bangladesh's unique system, when an administration comes to the end of its term it hands over to an unelected interim government which has 90 days to organize elections.
