Old Beirut has now been converted into new Beirut due to lack of free land in Lebanon. In past, old Beirut was spotted with individual houses, but now all these have been replaced by multi-storey buildings.
Ottoman-Era Homes
However, not all remainders from old periods have demolished. Still there are some remains from Ottoman-era, these are homes from this era that have been left untouched. Many of these homes have been converted into boutique hospitals.
American University of Beirut
The campus of American University of Beirut is still the part of new Beirut and it is considered as an important landmark of this place. It contains a museum and grounds.
