Bulgaria is a country, which situated in the southeast of Europe, Black Sea to the east, Greece and Turkey to the south, Romania to the north along the river Danube. The official language of Bulgaria is Bulgarian. It is based on the Cyrillic alphabet. The Bulgarian language is the earliest written Slavic language. It is 1862 old language. The most important characteristics of the Bulgarian language are elimination of noun, suffixes definite article, lack of a verb infinitive and complicated verb system. The words in Bulgarian are pronounced in the same way in which they are written. The Bulgarians' names consist of three parts - personal, fathers and family name. About 8 million inhabitants of the country speak the Bulgarian language, the official language of the Republic. Bulgarian language is actually the branch of Slavic language. The history of the Bulgarian language is divided into three periods: old, middle, and modern. The period of old language is depend lasted from 9th to the 11th century, The Middle Bulgarian period lasted from the 12th to the 14th century. The Modern Bulgarian period started in the 15th century, but the modern literary language, which is quite different from Old Bulgarian. As of 2007 there are more than 10 million people around the world who speak Bulgarian fluently. Also, it has been claimed, that Russian and Bulgarian have a moderate degree of mutual intelligibility.
