Bulgarian Visa

  

Citizens of some countries, including the United States and Canada, traveling on regular passports, are not necessary visas for a stay in Bulgaria not exceeding 90 days, within a period of 6 months. A Bulgarian visa (transfer) may be obtained at the the Bulgarian Consulate General.

 

Bulgarian Visa

A Bulgarian visa (transfer) may be obtained at the  Bulgarian Consulate General in New York City, the Bulgarian Embassy in the US, or at any Bulgarian Embassy or Consular Office in other countries. Citizens of some countries, including the United States and Canada, traveling on regular passports, are not necessary visas for a stay in Bulgaria not exceeding 90 days, within a period of 6 months. Citizens of most of the EU countries are not required visas for a stay in Bulgaria not exceeding 90 days. If planning to stay more than 90 days, or traveling on diplomatic or official passport, a visa is required and must be obtained in advance. Visa applicants are expected to provide an invitation from a Bulgarian host.  The applicants are required to come in person to the Consulate General bringing all the necessary documents. A brief interview may take place.

Bulgarian Visa Costs

In addition to the price of the visa itself a 25 $ processing fee is collected per passport. It is non-refundable even in case of non-delivered visa.

If you intend to stay beyond that period you must obtain a "type D" bulgarian visa from the Bulgarian embassy in your originating country prior to arrival.
