Zia International Airport Dhaka is the home base and hub of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and GMG Airlines. It started operation in 1981, and was named after Bangladesh's former president, Zia ur Rahman.

It is the biggest international airport of Bangladesh that is located in Kurmitola, in the northern part of Dhaka. It has Dhaka Cantonment on its one side while on the other side Uttara Residential Area is located. This airport is the hub of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines, GMG Airlines, Best Air and United Airways (Bangladesh). This airport is covering an area of 1, 981 acres. Approximately more than 50% domestic and international transportation of Bangladesh is carried out through Zia International Airport. It consists on terminal buildings, hangers, technical areas, warehouse etc. It plays a connecting link between many of the big cities of the world and Bangladesh.
