Dhaka City is the capital of Bangladesh. It is the principal city of Dhaka district. Dhaka is located on the banks of Buriganga River. It is one of the most populous cities in the world. Dhaka City was known as Jahangir Nagar in Mughal Rule in 17th century. Modern Dhaka is the center of political, cultural and economic life in Bangladesh.
