Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam. Hanoi is in the northern part of the country. Hanoi  is located on the west bank of the Red River. Hanoi means "the hinterland between the rivers".
   Hanoi is situated in a tropical monsoon zone with two main seasons. During the dry season, which last from Ovtober to April, it is cold and there is very little rainfall. In JAnuary to March the weather is still cold but there is some light rain. The wet season, from May to September is hot with heavy rains and storms.
   Hanoi is the largest centre of education in Veitnam. It is estimated that 62% of the scientists in the whole country are living and working in Hanoi. Hanoi University of Technology remains the largest technical university in Vietnam. Hanoi Architechtural University was established in 1969. Lecturers, scientific staffs and students of the University have participated in designing thousands of large and small works of architecture, planning and construction over the country.
   Hanoi is the country's political center. There is one of the symbol of city , which is called the tower of Hanoi, built in 1812.
