The administrative headquarter of Air India is located in Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport while the other main administrative headquarter is located in Delhi at Indra Gandhi International Airport.
Currently Air India holds the 6th position among the largest airlines of Asia.

History of Air India
The foundation of air India was laid by J.R.D Tata as Tata Airlines in the year 1932. Initially Air India served as a mail carrying airline but later on it opened for public transport. After the independence of India Indian government owned major part of the Air India shares and Air India got the status of national airlines of India. In the year 1960 Air India got entry in the jet age and Boeing 707 became the part of the Air India.

Currently there are two subsidiaries of Air India that are Air India Cargo and Air India Express. Indian Airlines and Air India Regional are also going to become the subsidiaries of Air India. Air India is serving international and national destinations that include: Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and Oceania.
