Allama Iqbal Open University or AIOU is named after the name of the great poet of East Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal. AIOU was established by the ex prime minister of Pakistan MR. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1974. The idea behind the establishment of AIOU was to connect the new generation of Pakistan with the modern world of science and technology.
