Jakarta is the largest and capital city of Indonesia. Officially, Jakarta is not a city but a province with special status as the capital of Indonesia.

Jakarta is not only the capital city of Indonesia but also it is the largest city of Indonesia. It is the most populous city in Southeast Asian region. It is located on the northwestern coastal area of Java. It is scattered on an area of 661.52 square kilometers. Jakarta is the center of all economical, cultural, social and political activities of Indonesia. Jakarta is ranked as the 12th largest city of the world. Its metropolitan area is called Jabodetabek and its metropolitan area is the sixth largest metropolitan area in the world. Jakarta Stock Exchange, Bank of Indonesia and the National Monument are the prominent and major landmarks of the Jakarta. Jakarta has two international while one sea port. Jakarta experience tropical/equatorial climatic conditions. Jakarta is located in the western area of the Indonesia. Rainfall occurs in the month of January. August is the dry month. Humidity is the main thing that remains throughout the year.
