Jordan
Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is a country in the Arab World in Western Asia. The climate of Jordan is dry and hot for most of the year, since the country is mainly desert.. However, the western part of the country receives greater precipitation during the winter season from November to March and occasional snowfall in Amman and the western heights. Jordan is a small country with limited natural resources. The country is currently exploring ways to expand its limited water supply and use its existing water resources more efficiently, including through regional cooperation. Jordan also depends on external sources for the majority of its energy requirements. Tourism is a very important factor of the Jordanian economy. It contributing between 10% to 12% to the country's Gross National Product in 2006. Jordan has given great attention to education in particular. Its educational system is of international standards and its secondary education program is accepted in world-class universities. Jordan is ranked 87th in the world according to literacy rate and the second in the Arab World.
