NED University Karachi, Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw University of Engineering and Technology is the largest and oldest engineering institution in Pakistan. It is located in Karachi, Sindh.
NED University Karachi is adjoining to the University of Karachi. It was raised to university level from a campus of University of Karachi in 1977. Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw University of Engineering and Technology currently offers graduate and post-graduate degrees in several engineering disciplines.
Initially starting from an enrolment of 50 students in Civil Engineering more than seven decades ago, the students population now in the main campus has gone upto around 4000 at undergraduate and graduate levels.
The main campus at present has adequate teaching and laboratory facilities for graduate programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. A Central Library with over 95,000 books, centrally air-conditioned Auditorium of 600 seating capacity, hostels for 500 students, Student Medical Center, Mosque, Student Cafeterias, well-equipped Gymnasium and other outdoor sports fascilities are available on the new campus site. Further development of the institution is continuing.
