Lahore International Airport
Lahore international airport was established in 1962 but later on the demands for the new world standard airport arouse and new airport was built. This airport is named on the name of Poet of east "Allama Iqbal" as Allama Iqbal International Airport, this airport was established in 2003 to overcome the problem of increasing air travel and to provide all traveling facilities to the passengers. At the present time, Lahore international airport is the second largest airport of Pakistan, which is operated and controlled by the civil aviation authority. Lahore international airport consists of three basic terminals among them one is reserved for military but in the months of Zil- Haj it is reserved for the pilgrims, while one is for cargo and other one is for passengers. Lahore international airport is designed on the basis of Mughal architecture; this is done especially to express the great history of Lahore. Pakistan International Airline is the major airline, which is also the flag carrier and official airline of Pakistan. Others are Shaheen Air international, Air blue, and Aero Asia. While there are approximately more than fifteen international airlines that are working at Allama Iqbal International airport that are: Air Blue, Air India, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Lufthansa, Pakistan International Airlines, Qatar Airways, Saudi Arabia Airlines, Shaheen Air International, Thai Airways International. These airlines cover more than 10 domestic and more than 40 international destinations.
