Punjab University
It is the oldest university of Pakistan. It is the largest University of Lahore. British Government established it before partition of India and Pakistan, in 1857. Its old campus is located in the center of the Lahore city, which is named as Allama Iqbal campus. New campus is named as Quaid-e-Azam campus; it is out of public area, this campus is the center of all administrative and academic activities. Its location is very beautiful as there's a canal separating the campus academic blocks.

Proud of Punjab University
In 1968, Dr Har Gobind Khorana, won the Nobel Prize on his interpretation of the genetic code and the functions of genetic code in protein synthesis. He completed his Bachelors in Scince in 1943 and Master in Science in 1945 from the University of Punjab. In 1979, Dr. Abdul Salam, who is a theoretical physicist, received a Nobel Prize on Electro weak theory. He completed MA in mathematics from Punjab University in 1946. Recently, Punjab University invested a lot of money for IT infrastructure to provide students of Punjab University, best technology regarding IT. Information technology center is established at Quaid-e-Azam campus, which is providing IT facilities to students, and new researches are also going in this center.
