History of Lebanon
Lebanon was ruled by Ottoman Empire from 1516 to 1918. In 1920 "Grand - Liban" came into being that means Great Lebanon. This territory was established by the head of the French troops named General Gouraud. French Mandane ruled the state until 1941. The democratic republic with a parliamentary government system was incorporated in 1943. In the year 194, Lebanon became one of the founding members of Arab League. Later on, Lebanon became a permanent member of United Nations. By the year 1946, all foreign troops departed Lebanon.
