Lebanon is located in the Middle East. Lebanon has a moderate Mediterranean climate. In coastal areas winters are generally cool and rainy while summers are hot and humid. Most of Lebanon relatively receives heavy rainfall annually, certain areas in north-eastern Lebanon receive little rainfall because the high peaks of the western mountain front block much of the rain clouds that originate over the Mediterranean Sea.
