Maldives or Maldive Islands
It officially it is called as republic of Maldives. It is an island territory consisting of approximately 1,192 islets and in them approximately 250 islands has inhabitants, who worshiped Ashoka and they were Buddhists but in 1153 Islam came in these territories. In 1965 Maldives got independent from British rule. Maldives had a sultanate rule but after
the freedom it had converted into a republic state.

Maldives is the world's dangerous country as it lacks highest points and it has a chance to disappear in the ocean which can rise anytime by the global climatic changes. Maldives is the world's smallest Muslim territory not only the smallest in the sense of population but also in the sense of area it is occupied in the globe. Maldives was the victim of Tsunami in 2004 which rose in Indian Ocean and destroyed lots of islands that are locating at Indian Ocean coasts. Maldives is very popular among tourists as it is an island it is full of natural beauty.
Government System in Maldives
Maldives' is ruled by the presidential head as president of the county is the head of government and president of the country is elected by the parliamentarians by a secret election held in parliament. Judiciary system is controlled by the chief justice, who is the head of the judiciary. As Maldives is an island so it has a coast guard military that offers the duty to protect the country. Dhivehi is the official and national language of Maldives and Islam is the state religion.
