Mongolia
It is located in East Central Asia, and at the same time it is a part of East Asia. It is a landlocked country. The capital and largest city is Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia was the center of the Mughal Empire in the thirteenth century. Mongolia's political system is parliamentary republic. Mongolia is the world's second-largest landlocked country after Kazakhstan.
Weather of Mongolia
There are four well-defined seasons, and on average, the sunshine for well over 200 days a year. The climate is harsh continental with low precipitation. Most of the country is hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Half of the country has an average temperature of below freezing point. Ulaanbaatar has the coldest average temperature of any national capital in the world. Mongolia is high, cold and windy.
Economy of Mongolia
Mongolia's economy is centered on agriculture and mining. Mongolia has rich mineral resources. There are currently over 30,000 independent businesses in Mongolia, chiefly centered around the capital city. Mongolia's largest trading partner is China. The Mongolian Stock Exchange established in 1991, is the world's smallest stock exchange by market capitalization.
Education in Mongolia
Compulsory education in Mongolia is available from ages 8 to 16, with almost 90% of the primary school age children attending in 1996. The attendance range for secondary school was much lower at a little over 50% of the population attending. Institutions of higher learning had almost 40,000 attendees.
