Multan is located in the province Punjab. Multan is the capital city of the district Multan. Multan is a home town of the prime minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani. According to the 1998 census the total population of Multan was more than 3.8 million. It is the sixth largest city of Pakistan. Multan is very important city because it is the geographic center of the Pakistan. It is located at the bank of River Chenab. Multan is renowned as a "City of Saints". Multan is connected to the Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad and other cities of Pakistan through its Railways and airport.

Multan has lots of quality educational institutes that are affiliated with the Punjab University and the University of Multan is very famous University of Multan and it was founded in 1975. Multan has so many gardens, parks, hospitals etc. Multan has a rich culture and is very popular for its art and craft products such as embroidery work, painted pottery, wood furniture and wooden products, earthenware, camel-skin ware, surgical instruments and carpets. Multan is also very popular for its different kinds of mangoes.
As Multan is an ideal land for crop production so Multan is very rich in the growth of wheat, cotton, sugarcane, rice, maize, tobacco, millet, lentils, oil seeds etc. More importantly the famous refinery of Pakistan that is Pak-Arab refinery is located in Multan.
