| Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya, Africa. It is also known as "the green city in the sun", founded in 1899. Nairobi is one of the most prominent cities in Africa politically and financially. Home to many companies and organizations, Nairobi is established as a hub for business and culture. The Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC) defines Nairobi as a prominent social center.University of Nairobi also known as UON is the largest university in Kenya. In 2002 the University had some 22,000 students, of whom 17,200 were undergraduates and 4,800 postgraduates. Nairobi Stock Exchange: The Nairobi stock exchange began in 1954 as an overseas stock exchange. It is Africa's 4th largest stock exchange in terms of trading values, and 5th in terms of market capitalization as a percentage of GDP. Nairobi enjoys a fairly moderate climate. Nairobi has many parks and open spaces throughout the city . Most of Nairobi is green-space, and the city has dense tree-cover. The most famous park in Nairobi is Uhuru Park.
