NAIROBI STOCK EXCHANGE
Nairobi Stock Exchange is the largest and controlling stock exchange of Kenya. It is located in Nairobi as the name shows and it became functional in the year 1954, initially it started functioning as an overseas stock exchange because Kenya was a British colony. It was established by the permission that was granted by the London Stock exchange.
The Nairobi Stock Exchange holds the membership of African Stock Exchange Association. In the manner of trading volumes while for market capitalization Nairobi Stock Exchange is the fourth largest stock exchange of Africa. The trading time of Nairobi Stock Exchange starts at 9:30 am to 3:00 pm while Saturdays and Sundays are declared as the holidays. At Nairobi Stock Exchange trading is being carried out through electronic trading system that was introduced in the year 2006.
