Pakistan coasting along the Arabian Sea in the south. Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world. It based on its diverse cultures, peoples and landscapes.

Pakistan is officially called as the Islamic Republic of PakistanPakistan is located in the South Asian region.

Pakistan is bordered by following countries:

Afghanistan and Iran: west

China: far north east

India: East

Pakistan lies on the coast of Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman in the South part.

 

Brief History

Pakistan was the part of Hindustan but in the year 1947, Hindustani Muslims got independent and Pakistan came into being. Pakistan has been the home for several historical civilizations such as Indus valley, Harrappa, Mohen jo Drao etc.

Pakistan has strong influence of Afghani, Turkics, Mughal, Greek, Saka, Aryan, Arab and other civilization. After the end of the British East India Company rule Pakistan came into being.

 

Struggle for Independence

Muslim of Hindustan gathered under the flag of Muslim League party that was struggling for getting an independent country. Pakistan was founded on the basis of "two nation theory". In the year 1947, Indian Muslim eventually got success and Pakistan came into being.

The founder Pakistan is Quaid e Azam, who has buried ion the center of the largest city of Pakistan Karachi.

 

Establishment and Politics of Pakistan

In the year 1956 first constitution of Pakistan was adopted, later on in the year 1958 this constitution was suspended and Martial law was imposed in Pakistan by General Ayub Khan. Then again in 1973 another new constitution was imposed and again it was suspended by the Zia-Ul-Haq in the year 1977 and he imposed martial law in Pakistan. Pakistan is a Muslim state where president is the head of the state. Powers between president and prime minister shuffled and transferred so many times in Pakistan. Pakistani military has been very influential on the politics of Pakistan and three times martial law was imposed for long time period.

 

Major Political Parties

Pakistan Peoples Party founded by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who was the former prime minister and president of Pakistan.

Muttaheda Quami Movement currently led by Altaf Hussain, this is an anti feudal party.

Pakistan Muslim League (N) currently led by Nawaz Sharif who is the former prime minister of Pakistan

Pakistan Muslim League (Q) led by Chaudary Shujat Hussain and Pervez Ilhahi.

Pakistan is currently an active member of the following regional and international organizations:

 Important Events:

After 9/11 Pakistan has emerged as an important friend of Pakistan against the war of terrorism, Pakistan helped US to fight terrorist in Afghanistan. Due to this Pakistan has been the victim of terrorism and faced several obnoxious events and ups and downs. Currently military operation in swat is going on against the Pakistani Taliban. In 2007 on 27 December Pakistani most popular and powerful politician Benazir Bhutto assassinated.

Democracy was restored in Pakistan after the elections of 2008 and the resignation of Musharraf as a chief of army staff of Pakistan. Currently Pakistan Peoples Party, Muslim League (N), Jamiat Ulma e Islam (JUI) and Awami National Party are running the government of Pakistan in coalition. Judiciary was suspended in 2007 and emergency was imposed by Musharraf who is the former president of Pakistan, after the restoration of democracy judiciary system was restored in Pakistan that is the big achievement of the government of Pakistan.

 

Provinces of Pakistan

Pakistan is divided into 4 major provinces while two independent areas of Azad Kashmir and Northern areas are also the part of Pakistan. Provinces of Pakistan include:

  •     Balochistan
  •     Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa
  •     Punjab
  •     Sindh

Territories:

  •      Fedearlly Administrated Tribal Area (FATA)
  •      Azad Jamu and Kashmir (AJK)

Pakistan Culture and Religion

Pakistan is a four nation state where four different cultures are merged forming a Pakistani culture. Blaochistan province follows Balochi culture where people are bound to strict rules, women are restricted likewise Sindh follows the same culture as Balochistan. Balochi language is the major spoken language of Balochistan, Sindhi is the major spoken language of Sindh province, Punjabi in Punjab and Pushto in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa while other spoken languages include Barohi, Balti, Palula, Gujrati, Gujari, Hazargi. Hind ko, Kachchi, Memoni, etc. Islam is the state religion of Pakistan. Islamic rules are strictly followed by every Pakistani in his/her daily life. Sunni is the largest Muslim sect of Pakistan  while Shia are also in great numbers and Pakistan is the second largest Shia majority country while first largest Sunni populated country. Other religions are Christianity, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Parsis etc.

 

Military of Pakistan

Pakistani military is the sixth largest military in the world. It is divided into three major parts that are, Pakistani army, Pakistan air force, Pakistan navy. Pakistani military is equipped with the latest and modernized arms and weapons and it is one of the world's strongest army. Pakistani force took part in the wars with India; it is also included in the UN peace force.

 

Education Universities in Pakistan

Pakistan is the home for several higher education universities. Pakistan has two separate sectors of education one is private sector while other is government sector. Private sector is more powerful but government sector has many high standards universities while on lower level of education such as primary level and secondary level people prefer to get education from private sector. Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan while Hockey is the official sport of Pakistan. Football is also popular, other popular sports include squash, badminton.
