The official airline of Pakistan is “Pakistan international airline” (PIA). It is one of the largest airlines of continent Asia. It is ranked 6th in the list of Asian airlines. Largely it is based in Karachi, its destinations include approximately 8o countries from all over the world mainly from Europe, Asia, North America and Middle East. Sub stations or ports of Pakistan International airlines are in Multan, Peshawar and Quetta. PIA, on and off faces much type of crises but these do not disturb the efficiency of PIA and it is quite successful to keep its image and standards however, its standard has improved within last few years. The Government of Pakistan controls PIA, however, government of Pakistan has decided several times to privatize PIA but could not work upon on that due to some limitations. The major bases of PIA are Quaid-e-azam international airport of Karachi, Allama Iqbal international airport of Lahore and Islamabad international airport of Islamabad. PIA has a wide network of domestic destinations. Pakistan international is the first airline of Asia that entered in the jet age of aircraft after buying Boeing 707 in 1960.
