Pakistan Culture
Pakistan was came into being after the division of Hindustan (Sub-continent) so Pakistani culture is greatly influenced by the culture of India, likewise Middle East culture has strong impact on culture of Pakistan because of religious similarity. Not only that but also Pakistani culture is greatly influenced by Central Asia and other Asian regions. Before the partition of Sub-continent Pakistani region was the hub and center of all cultural activities, because the Indus valley civilization was the part of Pakistan, likewise due to long Mughal era, Mughal's culture was dominated in Sub continent. Aryans, Greeks, Arabs, Turks, Mongols, various Eurasian groups and White Huns ruled over the Pakistani region before partition. Pakistani culture is a mixture of several other cultures such as Turk, Persians, Indian Afghan and others. Pakistan is the only one country of subcontinent that is a complete picture of Islamic culture. Pakistan has great and historical heritage such as Mughal Art, Buddhist monuments, Hindu/Buddhist temples, Anglo-Mughal mansions and many others. Pakistani society is a combination of various different cultures and Pakistan has four different big nations that are Sindhi, Punjabi, Pathans and Balouch nations. So many languages are spoken and understood in Pakistan but the major connecting and national language of Pakistan is Urdu. Typical Pakistani families prefer to live in a joint family system but since last 10 or 20 years trends are getting changed and people now prefer to live as a separate family. Joint family system is still popular but this custom has come from the Indian culture. Tribal areas of Pakistan are the conservative areas. Tribal areas make and follow their own rules and regulation and they have unique life style. Middle class is a fast growing and emerging class of Pakistani Urban culture especially in the big cities of Pakistan such as Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Sukku, Hyderabad and Quetta. Pakistani literature has a strong place in the other literature of the world, popular Pakistani writers are Ashfaq Ahmed, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, Bano Qudsiya, Bushra rehman and others. The pioneer writers that established the Urdu literatue are: Ismat chughtai, Azeem baig chughtai, Sa'adat hasan manto, Krishen chander, Syed suleman nadvi, Farhat Ullah Baig and others.Pakistani poets are well known all over the world and urdu language poets played a very important role in the freedom of Pakistan, some important names are: Mirza ghalib, Faiz ahmad faiz, Ahmad nadeem Qasmi, Allama Iqbal and others. Pakistani poetry has a mixture of different languages because Urdu language is a mixture of several other languages such as Turkic, Punjabi, Persian, balochi, Arabic, kashmiri and sindhi poetry. Music of Pakistan has traditional and western colors such as Fusion music that was introduced by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Late). Mystic music with the combination of Rock music is also very popular in Pakistan and it was created by the Junoon Band of Pakistan. Classical music is the musical heritage of Pakistan. Pakistani pop music is very popular all over the world. Hockey is the national sport of Pakistan but it is not well popular among the people of Pakistan. Cricket is the most popular sport of Pakistan. Pakistan participates in the Olympic Games in the sports of Hockey, shooting, swimming, boxing and racing. Pakistani food is very popular in Asia and in western part of the world. Pakistani food has a great influence of Afghani, Arabic, Indian and Persian food. In Pakistan, so many religious and national festivities are celebrated every year according to the Islamic calendar and English calendar. Eid-ul-fiter, Eid-ud-duha, Chand raat, Shab barat, Ramadan, Muhaaram, Eid Milad Un Nabi, Jashn-e-Baharan, Naurouz, Independence day, Defense day are the religious and national festivities of Pakistan. Pakistani people's national dress is Shalwar Qameez but dressings of Pakistani people varies from place to place.
