PESHAWAR RUGS
Peshawar is the capital city of the province Pukhtoonkhwa Pakistan. It is the center of all cultural, educational and economical activities of Province Pukhtoonkhwa. Its culture is mixture of Pakhtun, Pashtuns, Afghanis and other civilizations. Pakhtuns are in majority. People of Peshawar are very hardworking and they are artisans and are well known for various art and crafts they prepare by hands. Peshawar rug is the most famous art work of Peshawar's people. These rugs are prepared by wool or cotton and they are dyed with the vegetable colors. These rugs are popular all over the world for the designing and material that is used to make these rugs. These rugs are made by using different color combination that makes these rugs eye catching and attractive. Natural colors that are extracted from the plant and vegetables are used to weave chobi that is a carpet; Persian designing is used to design chobi. Currently chobi is the most wanted type of Peshawar hand woven rugs. Peshawar rugs are expensive because of the material that is used in their manufacturing is costly. Peshawar rugs give a peculiar feel and a feel of softness suddenly comes as soon as anyone walks on them.
