NWFP University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, generally known as UET Peshawar. It is a public type university that allows co-education and it is located in the capital of province NWFP, Peshawar. This university is well recognized for engineering education all over Pakistan. Initially, an engineering college was founded in the year 1952 and later this college was granted the university status in the year 1980 and it was renamed as NWFP Engineering and Technology University, Peshawar.
There are four campuses of UET Peshawar, main campus is located in the off university road in university campus area while three more campuses started working, one in Abbottabad, others are in Bannu and Mardan. All administrative and operative activities are being done in the main campus of Peshawar.
Abbottabad campus is the pioneer campus among all campuses because it has introduced electronic engineering in UET history. In abbottabad campus only two degree programs are being offered in only two fields of engineering these are,

Electronic Engineering
Likewise Bannu campus is offering degree courses for Electrical and Civil engineering. Mrdan camous is offering degree courses for Telecommunication and Software engineering.

Initially university examination system was based on annual examination system but later in the year 2004 it was changed by the high authorities of university and since then semester system is used.
UET Peshawar introduced a performance based pay system at university in the year 2006, which is called as Tenure Track system.
