Yerevan Republic Square

  

The Hanrapetutyan Hraparak (Republic Square) is the big central town square in Yerevan . It is intersected by Amiryan Street, Abovian Street, Nalbandian Street and Tigran Mets Street.

 

Armenia is a landlocked mountainous country in Eurasia between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. Armenia is a unitary, multiparty, democratic nation state with an ancient and historic cultural heritage. Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia . It is situated on the Hrazdan River, and is the administrative, cultural and industrial center of the country.

The Hanrapetutyan Hraparak

The Hanrapetutyan Hraparak (Republic Square) is the big central town square in Yerevan . It is intersected by Amiryan Street, Abovian Street, Nalbandian Street and Tigran Mets Street. The square has a stone pattern in the center, meant to look like a traditional Armenian rug from above. The square has a large fountain in front of the National Art Gallery and History Museum, it has the Marriott Hotel, the Foreign Ministry, a post office and other establishments around it. This is the center of Yerevan, where ceremonies and meetings are held and through which processions pass on high days and holidays. The statue of Lenin used to be located in here, but when Armenia regained its independence, it was brought down and replace with a big TV monitor in its place.
